Have you ever wanted to build a variant on your regular subscription form, or make one that has different info fields without losing your original version?
Now you can!
In the past you could only generate embed code for one subscriber form, but we’ve just updated our system with a new option to let you generate embed code for any amount of sign-up forms you’d like to have - going live tomorrow on the 14th of June 2012.
When you go to the subscription form tab in the GraphicMail application you'll see a forth option appear in the list, named: "Create multiple embed forms", which will give you access to this feature.
(Note: None of our existing options for sub form creation have been replaced - this is just an extra one.)
How is this useful, you ask? Today you don’t just have one page, one domain or one website that you place a form on to get new subscribers - the internet is rife with sign-up placement opportunities, and clever marketers may think about customising their subscription form for each platform, audience or promotion type.
It’s a great way to be more targeted, more specific and more relevant to what your consumers are in the market for.
For example: Maybe you’re running two different campaigns and for one of them you just need people’s name, birth date and email address - but for the other campaign you need the mobile number and geographic info since you’re doing something else - like integrating your email marketing with location-based offers.
You can of course risk over-burdening your potential subscribers by making everyone give you all the information you need for any type of campaign. But the better option is to have multiple sub forms that stick to asking just what you need - which means you’ll actually be getting more sign ups since you won’t be scaring people away with long forms that seem to take forever to fill in.
With GraphicMail’s multiple sub form generator you can simply give your consumers the more relevant sign up form for them.
We’re still in the process of developing this feature more fully though to make it super easy, so if you want to start using it already there are a few technical issues to keep in mind for now.
The first thing you should do after generating a new form is to check if you’ve got datasets set up to capture all the information that you’re asking for, and then create whatever one’s you don’t have yet.
Secondly, since we’re still laying the groundwork to make this tool more helpful, GraphicMail will not quite yet be hosting all the various sub forms on our domain. So, for the moment, this sweet little extra will mainly be practical for more advanced users - such as webmasters or other tech-savvy folk.
